The fourth stop of our SpadePoker Tour has been anchored at Grand Casino Liechtenstein in recent days, where it brought a record-breaking guarantee of 300,000 Swiss Francs. After seven opening days, Day 2 participants played for a share of the prizepool yesterday, so what did this tough day bring?
A challenging, nearly 10-hour Day 2 welcomed all 114 advancers who formed from the original 452 entries at the start of the day. But they couldn't have had any reason to be happy just yet, the first task for every single participant was to fight their way into the top 68, with prize money starting at CHF 1,340 awaiting them.
After the successful bubble burst by the unlucky Fabian Wolz, the players were already in full swing. Their goal was to form the final table or play 15 levels, and you could follow the journey via the live stream:
Shortly before 4 a.m., the second day of play came to a close, and 11 players eventually carried their stack into today's final table. They were led by Moldova's Gheorgi Oprea, whose 7.6 million stack is more than twice the stack of runner-up Lunario of Italy, by a wide margin.
The final day at the Grand Casino is scheduled for today at 18:00 and will kick off with the 25th minute of Level 14 on blinds of 50,000/100,000/100,000. Of course there will be no shortage of live stream action, stay tuned to see who will emerge as the overall winner of the Spadepoker Tour Main Event and take home the CHF 58,180 prize money and the winner's trophy!
