The main event of the entire Slovak Series Of Poker culminated in Monday's battles for the title of champion, in which a total of 988 entries were registered. Of these, 122 players first presented themselves on Sunday, from which the final sixteen came up. They sat behind the tables yesterday and battled for the title and a prize of €50,550.

Final Day

The final day started at four o'clock, when the last 16 players sat down at the tables. After a few hours of play and eight eliminations, the official final table was formed, with local player Marián Flešár in the chip lead.

The first to leave the final table was the Greek representative Konstantinos Argyris for €5,050, who was sent to the cash register by Flešár. Seventh place was taken by Roland Lakatoš from Hungary, who kept flipping with QQ to AK under the hand of Pollak.

The game got a bit bogged down in the last six and there was a two hour wait for the next elimination. Peter Ralbovský, who suffered several suckouts during the final day and at times only had 4,000 chips, finally took home €8,550 for sixth place.

After Ralbovský, another Slovak - Roland Weag, who sent from SB T9 - went to the cash desk. Unfortunately for him, Nanos sitting on the BB had a pair of queens that eventually eliminated him from the tournament. His patch must be a win of €11,550. Fourth place went to Hans Pollak and third to Christos Vettas.

The winner is from Slovakia for the first time

The final heads-up started disadvantageously for Flešár. He had 11M chips behind the line, while Nanos had up to 27M. First, Flešár managed to double up with a pair of sevens, and later Nanos lost his 3-bet bluff.

In the last game, on the 5-2-4-4 turn, Nanos Dimitrios decided to send all-in with 78o, on which Marián Flešár snapp-called him with a pair of aces. River's 3 did not change anything and crowned the new champion. For the first time in history, a Slovak - Marián Flešár - won the Slovak open. In addition to the title of champion, the first place also includes a beautiful trophy and a financial reward of €50,550. Congratulations!
