Do you recognize it? You're a college student, you go to play a tournament with your classmates, and suddenly one of the world's best poker players is sitting at the table - Steve O'Dwyer, who has more than $45 million in live tournament winnings to his name.

To make matters worse, Steve wasn't the only pro in the game. He was kept company by Fintan Hand, Dara O'Kearney and Thomas Murphy. This group of pros played with Dublin City University students in the Punters vs. Pros tournament.

The tournament had a buy-in of €5 and produced 118 entries. The prizepool also included two tickets to the JP Main Event worth €200. Fintan Hand is a former student of this university and wrote a bounty of €20 on Steve for knocking him out.

The aforementioned tournament was held as part of the Dublin City University Poker Society, which allows students to play poker on campus and organises tournaments for them. To make the tournaments even more interesting, they decided to spice them up by inviting professional players.

A professional showed his qualities

Steve O'Dwyer played the tournament as a freeroll and ended up dominating the whole thing. His reward was a prize of €100 plus €20 for the bounty. However, he eventually turned down his €100 prize and donated it to the year-end social events fund. Steve didn't forget to boast about his success on social media.

So now this group of students can tell everyone their own story about how they played poker at university against one of the best poker players in the world, and that's definitely not a story anyone can tell.
