As we have already informed you, the Sunday Million, the world's most legendary online poker tournament, celebrates its 18th birthday this year. In their honor, the guarantee of this $215 tournament will be increased to an astronomical $8 million, and from that guarantee, the top finisher will get a 7-figure payday.
From March 10 to April 21, PokerStars has put together a 6-week festival called the Sunday Million Season, consisting of 24 individual episodes featuring different tournaments in honor of the tournament. The tournament schedule is filled with special themed tournaments and GTD boosts that allow players to win special prestigious badges, trophies and tickets to the main Sunday Million Season events.
Key SMS Events
Together, the three key events of the entire Sunday Million Season will carry a whopping $10 million guarantee:
- April 7: $215 Sunday Million 18th Anniversary - $8,000,000 GTD
- April 14: $11 Sunday Storm 13th Anniversary - $500,000 GTD
- April 21: $109 Sunday Million Season Finale - $1,500,000$ GTD
From now until the annual Sunday Million, any player who makes the final table in any Sunday Million Season event (up to a $55 buy-in) will win a $215 Sunday Million Anniversary ticket. Then, from April 7-21, all Sunday Million Season events with a buy-in of $11 will award Sunday Million Season finale tickets to each of the finalists.
Ambassador Events
It wouldn't be a PokerStars event without their ambassadors getting in on the action. Four separate events are taking place from April 16-18, with Fintan Hand, Ben Spragg, Parker Talbot and Rafael Moraes giving their fans the chance to win a ticket to the Sunday Million Season Finale. All you have to do is knock out the ambassador organising the event and you will be rewarded with a $109 ticket.
