On the night, the WSOP in Las Vegas featured, among other things, the final day of the $50,000 buy-in Poker Players Championship. The tournament, which is considered the toughest poker event in the world, brought in 89 entries this year, making the prizepool $4,249,750.

They were led by Chris Brewer with a stack of more than 10 million, followed by the legendary Daniel Negreanu with the second largest stack, thus nurturing his chance to win his seventh bracelet after an 11-year hiatus.

Heads-up play lasted for over 3 hours, during which both players took turns at the chipleader position. It all came to an end in the end with Pot Limit Omaha, in which Negreanu hit a full house to claim his seventh WSOP gold bracelet. In an interview after the win, he said that there is only one tournament in the world that he wants to win more than any other, and that is the Poker Players Championship.
