An event that is unmatched by any other and still talked about - the PS Players Championship, a unique $25,000 High Roller, which set many records in Bahamas in 2019. The tournament was attended by Platinum Pass of 320 qualifiers who, in conjunction with the top professionals of the world, created a unique tournament with a massive $26.455,500 prize pool.
Although these numbers are respectable and massive, it looks like they will fall into oblivion in a few days. Already on January 22 in sunny Bahamas will start again the popular extended EPT stop called PS Caribbean Adventure, which will also include the mentioned PSPC event! Although after 2019, when the Main Event PCA won the controversial Chino Rheem, the cancellation of the PCA series was announced, but eventually arose from the ashes and promises a great event to the fans around the world!
The whole PCA will last until February 3 and its charged schedule contains a number of interesting events. It includes the popular Mystery Bounty Format, lot of High Rollers with buy-in from $50,000 to $250,000 or the main tournament of the whole event- $10,300 Main Event. Exceptionally, the Main Event will take place in the first half of the festival (January 23-29), as the great highlight of the tournament will be the mentioned PSPC (30.1.-3.2.).
The event premiered in 2019, when the Bahamas and the contribution of 320 qualifiers overcame a thousand entries and set the prize pool value of $26 million, which was the largest prize pool in the $25K buy-in tournament history. The record was supposed to be broken in August 2020, when the organizers wanted to integrate PSPC into the Barcelona stop schedule. However, it did not take place due to the pandemic and we had to wait until January 2023 for the second PSPC.
Although the whole event is just ahead of us, it already seems to overcome its first edition. The numbers clearly say, compared to 320 qualifiers of 2019, to the second PSPC of their Platinum Pass worth $30,000 (buy-in + hotel + travel + pocket money) has already grabbed 418 players. It means already $10 million in prize pool, where a few Platinum Passes are still to be given, and some players will also add to it on the spot. What do you think, how big the second PSPC edition will be?
