The Triton Million has kicked off, who hit $525,000 in the first hand?

Article cover

WSOP Paradise in the sunny Bahamas has already kicked off and all eyes are on the current number two tournament, which is the Triton Million. This tournament was open to various celebrities or businessmen, but professionals could enter by their invitation only.

Each businessman could invite one professional and together they had to pay a buy-in of $1,050,000, a sum of $525,000 each. Yesterday, the tournament had Day 1 on the schedule, which brought 95 entries. However, late registration is still open until the start of Day 2. A WSOP gold champions bracelet will be waiting for the winner this time around.

Elimination in the first hand

Every year in the $10,000 buy-in WSOP Main Event in Las Vegas, someone is unlucky enough to bust out in the first hand of the day. Now, however, we have arguably the most expensive first-hand elimination we've ever seen. Jared Bleznick took care of that, knocking out David Einhorn with A-K with his aces.

The WSOP Main Event doesn't have a second buy-in option, but in this case David could have reached for re-entry and he did. Alexey Ponakov and the legendary Phil Ivey also had to reach for re-entry yesterday.

Who is the chipleader?

On Day 1, the pros played separately from the businessmen, and on today's Day 2, they will be at the tables together. 67 players have advanced to Day 2 and the chipleader here is Michael Moncek with a stack of 3,815,000. The list of advancers includes names like Fedor Holz, Patrik Antonius, Jared Bleznick, Chance Kornuth, Jessica Teusl, Daniel Negreanu, Isaac Haxton, Nick Petrangelo, Jason Koon, Kayhan Mokri, Michael Addamo, Adrian Mateos, Santhosh Suvarna, Justin Bonomo, Bryn Kenney, Monika Zukowicz, Phil Nagy, Shaun Deeb, Alex Foxen, and Phil Ivey.

Day 2 will start at blinds of 10k/25k/25k and will run players through 50-minute levels. The plan for today is to make it to the final table. You can also look forward to a live stream.
