French professional Thomas Santerne has done what probably no one has ever done before. He won no less than three EPT titles in a week, earning him almost €700,000 in prize money.
Firstly, he dominated the €20,000 NL Hold'em tournament a week ago, earning €175,000, and three days ago he also booked victory in the €50,000 Super High Roller. There, he took home a handsome €385,725 after heads-up play.
The last of the trio of titles came during yesterday's play when Thomas Santerne jumped into the €25,000 Super High Roller Second Chance. While the tournament only saw 11 entries, it still doesn't change the fact that Santerne pulled off a hat trick. He was happy to win this tournament as well, for which he cashed €131,250. He defeated Derk van Luijk of the Netherlands in heads-up play, while Czech Martin Kabrhel finished third and had to settle for €52,000.
€5,300 EPT Main Event
The record-breaking Main Event, which saw 1,458 entries, has now moved into the ITM phase. The €5,300 EPT Main Event prizepool reached €7,071,300 to be shared by 215 players. The biggest prize of €1,146,500 awaits the winner, which is still being contested by the last 53 players.
Yesterday's Day 3 started with 191 players who had a sure money. The day's play went best for Anton Bergstrom of Sweden, whose stack stands at 1,830,000 chips.
You will also be able to follow the title fight on our website from 12:30pm. Day 4 will start with Level 21 - 10,000/20,000/20,000, with levels increasing every 90 minutes.
€3,000 NLH Mystery Bounty
The tournament, which has seen 835 entries, is nearing its final round. The €3,000 NLH Mystery Bounty tournament prizepool has reached €2,338,000, which has been split between prizes and bounties. The last 16 players remain in the field and €265,560 awaits the winner of the tournament. Sebastian Malec from Poland has the best stack with 3,395,000 in chips. There is also still a top possible prize of €75,000 in the bounty, which is still waiting for its owner.
€2,200 EPT Mixed Game Main Event
Thursday's EPT Prague 2024 schedule also saw the first day of play of the €2,200 EPT Mixed Game Main Event, which featured just six 40-minute levels. In that time, players recorded 49 entries, with as many as 40 players wrapping up their stacks at the end of the day. Registration is still open during Day 2. Players will have the opportunity to jump into the tournament until the end of Level 10.
Yesterday's action saw Thomas Berg of Norway take the chipleader's chair, bagging up 151,800 chips. Georgina James also jumped into the tournament and is currently in third place with a stack of 114,300 chips.
EPT Paris 2025 cancelled
Just about a month ago, the EPT Paris 2025 "stop" was announced, which was scheduled to take place between February 12-23, 2025. However, this was forced to be cancelled by the organisers due to the threat of the French government closing all poker clubs by the end of the year.
EPT Paris was set to kick off the new season after a record attendance in 2024. The EPT Paris 2024 Main Event saw 1,224 entries and the victory went to Barny Boatman, who unfortunately won't get the chance to compete for another Paris title.
Until now, it is still unknown where the next EPT stop will be played, but we can only hope that the organizers will come up with an interesting destination.
