Dan Cates, Stephen Chidwick, Timothy Adams, Isaax Haxton or Doug Polk - the final table of the Main Event Triton London yesterday brought a great poker show, which was even more embellished by the fact that a prize of $4,185,000 awaited the champion. What did it look like in the beginning?
- Dan Cates – 8.2 million (66 BBs)
- Stephen Chidwick – 6.65 million (53 BBs)
- Jean Noel Thorel – 5.65 million (45 BBs)
- Tim Adams – 5.15 million (41 BBs)
- Doug Polk – 3.325 million (27 BBs)
- Juan Pardo – 2.5 million (20 BBs)
- Isaac Haxton – 2.325 million (19 BBs)
- James Chen – 2.3 million (18 BBs)
- Lun Loon – 1.675 million (13 BBs)
A relatively quick final table already decided everything in 4 and a half hours, but you could also watch this final table live via Live Stream. As you probably know, the marathon of live broadcasts takes place from London day after day, but you can find the complete archive with all the results on our website in the events section.
But back to this table, which was first left by Doug Polk, who disappointed his audience after running into KQ under Noel Thorel. Next, Lun Loon, James Chen and Juan Pardo went to the cash desk. While Polk was sent home by Thorel with pocket kings, Pardo went home with the same player's hand with pocket aces.
Next came one of the most feared players of the current scene, Stephen Chidwick. This was also taken care of by the unstoppable Jean Noel Thorel, who experienced an incredible run on this table. He found a premium combination in all the big spots, and just as he sent home Doug Polk and Juan Pardo, he also took care of Chidwick, who with AK had no chance against Thorel's A A.
The next one who tried to stop this machine was Isaac Haxton, but he got burned just the same. The only elimination was subsequently taken care of by Timothy Adams, who sent Jungleman home, but then he had a difficult fight with the fast-paced Frenchman. Thorel had an advantage of almost 2:1 going into the heads-up, which at 60bb average still promised a lot of room to play.
"Joel is a very unpredictable player. Playing with him put me in many difficult spots where I didn't even know if I made a good or a bad move." Anyway, despite the difficult task, Timothy managed to beat the French businessman and thus claim the biggest hit of his career in worth $4,185,000.
