The Diamond Poker Series PLO Grand Slam is currently underway in the Albanian capital, namely at Arena Casino Tirana, running from January 23-30 and offering a total guarantee of €5,000,000.
The final day of the Opener tournament was played yesterday with a buy-in of €5,200 and a guarantee of €1,000,000. The tournament brought 225 entries and so the guarantee was collected, making the prizepool worth €1,057,500.
A prize of €234,200 awaited the winner, and names like Max Kruse, Joni Jouhkimainen, Tom-Aksel Bedell, Blaz Zerjav, Lautaro Guerra, Gergo Nagy and 2019 WSOP Main Event champion Hossein Ensan came to compete for this amount.
While Gergo Nagy finished on the bubble, Hossein Ensan battled his way to the final table, where he finished in 6th place for a prize of €54,300. Dutch pro Tom Vogelsang made it to the final heads-up, and was also the winner of this tournament. In the final heads-up, he defeated American player Sean Rafael to take home €234,200, surpassing the $3.7 million mark in live tournament winnings. Sean Rafael earned €158,100 for his second place finish.

Today kicks off the three-day Main Event called the PLO Championship, which has a buy-in of €10,300 and a guarantee set at €2,000,000. The most expensive tournament of the entire series has a buy-in of €25,500 and a guarantee of €500,000.
