EPT Monte Carlo at Le Casino has already completed the final table of the Main Event FPS with a buy-in of €1,100, where the counter of entries reached a record number of 2,138. Thanks to this, the prize pool reached a record amount of €2,052,480.
A reward of €307,160 awaited the winner here, and one Slovak player - Tomáš Patka - also fought for it at the final table. This 27-year-old native of Trenčín, living in Austria, got into the tournament for only €100 through online qualification. He entered the final table as the chip leader with a stack of 16,350,000.
At the final table, he already had a certain reward of at least €36,940. However, he only maintained his chip leadership position for about an hour of play. After Ogita knocked out several of his rivals, he took over the chip lead.
Tomáš Patka took care of eliminating the player in fourth place, which was the Russian Anatoly Chen. He took home a reward of €105,460.
In the last three, the Slovak already had a certain amount of at least €137,100. By this stage the game had slowed down and no one wanted to go home early. Tomas was slowly losing chips here and Ogita was increasing his stack.
But then came the hand in which Ogita crashed into the Slovak player and really let loose. After this hand, Tomáš Patka rose to the chip leader position again.
If you expected that after this hand the Slovak representative was calm and maintained the chip leadership position, we have to disappoint you. He was the chip leader for only a few minutes. Tomáš handed over a large part of his stack in two hands to Rubens Sellam, who was shortstacked for a long time. Sellam went to the break as the chip leader and Patka as the short stack.
Gratulujeme!
