The first half of September will clearly belong to the next stop of the Triton Poker series on the world High Roller scene, which has already settled in the Cyprus Merit Royal Diamond resort. Here it will bring a total of 14 events with buy-ins beyond the possibilities of ordinary mortals, which will also include the unique Coin Rivet Invitational tournament, which we informed you about already.
The opening tournament of the whole event was a two-day NLH event with a buy-in of $25,000, and the list of attending players let us know that we have a lot to look forward to in the next few days. The list of world stars in this tournament is endless, but even though 97 players (131 entries) took part in the tournament, one name still stands out above the others.
That name is none other than the legendary Patrik Antonius, who has more than enough success in his 20-year career, but the Triton trophy was missing among them until today. But that is no longer the case, because at the final table of the first event, he dealt with such names as Seth Davies, Danny Tang and Steve O'Dwyer and took home the iconic trophy, a pleasant $825,000 and a novelty in the form of an exclusive handmade Shamballa bracelet.
On his way to the victory, Antonius flashed many beautiful hands, but one clearly surpassed all the others. We are talking about an incredible call with the lowest pair on the board, where in the last three players he had to risk his tournament life.
