The keen eye of the poker fan will not have missed the news about Triton London, which takes place at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House until August 10. Yesterday saw the final of the second event, which was a $25k NLH 7-Handed tournament with a buy-in of $26,500.
The entries counter stopped here at 120 and that meant a prizepool of $3,000,000. This amount was shared by 20 players and $720,000 was waiting for the winner. 27 players entered the final day and among them, Czech player Roman Hrabec had the third largest stack.
Roman fell among the smallest stacks during the day, and before the final table he decided to go all-in, which was called by Fedor Holz. But Roman hit a full house on the board and enjoyed the chipleader position for a while after that hand.
Roman also made it to the final table, among the top 8 players, where every participant had already pocketed at least $93,000. Here, however, Hrabec gradually fell to just 7 blinds and eventually didn't make his all-in. He had to say goodbye to the tournament in 7th place with a prize of $126,000. However, we must mention that Roman had already made 2 buy-ins in the first event with the same high buy-in and so he needed to finish in 8th place at worst to end up in the black.
The final heads-up match pitted big names Chris Brewer (35BB) and Fedor Holz (25BB) against each other. However, after about 45 minutes of heads-up play, Fedor Holz turned the advantage to his side and Chris Brewer fell to 8 blinds.
It didn't take long after that hand to see the last hand of the night, which saw Fedor Holz become Triton champion for the third time, taking home $609,853 after heads-up play. Chris Brewer took home $600,647 for second place.
The $40k NLH Mystery Bounty was also played yesterday with a buy-in of $42,400 ($20,000+$20,000 bounty+2,400 fee), which brought 133 entries. Roman Hrabec played this event as well, right after he busted out of the aforementioned tournament. However, after a few hours of play, he had to say goodbye to the tournament and so did not make any cashes here.
