The Triton series in Monte Carlo is slowly coming to end. A number of trophies have already been handed out, but all of them so far have been in No Limit Holdem. On Thursday, it was the turn of Pot Limit Omaha, which culminated in yesterday's second day of play. In it, we met the first champion of this popular format, who made his mark in this event as well as Webster Lim - the winner of the last Holdem tournament in Monte Carlo.

$30k PLO ($10k bounty)

The first of the Omaha events, the $30k PLO ($10k bounty), brought in 74 entries, creating a prizepool worth $2,220,000, including bounty prizes. A total of 13 spots were paid out, and previous final table participants such as Imad Derwich, Dimitar Danchev, and Fahredin Mustafov were not to be missed. Danny Tang also came to Monte Carlo in good form, making another appearance at the final table. In addition to him, there was also Dan Dvoress and Tom "durrrr" Dwan, who came specifically just for the PLO tournaments.

Tom Dwan – 130 BBs
Dan Dvoress – 87 BBs
Danny Tang – 76 BBs
Quan Zhou – 70 BBs
Gavin Andreanoff – 46 BBs
Laszlo Bujtas – 37 BBs
Dylan Weisman – 25 BBs
Iakov Onuchin – 23 BBs

It was Tom Dwan who entered the final as a huge chipleader. However, it is clear to everyone that the Omaha is unpredictable. This was reflected in Tom Dwan's finish, as he lost his stack in the last seven, which earned him a $69,500 + $120,000 bounty. Danny Tang, who has five titles to his name thanks to his Monte Carlo title, also showed great form in Pot Limit Omaha. He notched up another final table appearance and it was ultimately a third place finish and a bounty of almost $300,000 including bounties.

In heads-up play, businessman Quan Zhou with 70BB faced off against Gavin Andeanoff with a stack of 20BB. The chips spilled over between the players until the average stack was just 20BB. On the last hand, Quan Zhou reraised preflop and continued to do so on all streets until the river, where he sent all in with a straight. Gavin Andeanoff called him back as he held a 10 high flush to take his first career major title. Although not a well known name, he has been playing poker professionally for 16 years. He parlayed his online cash game experience into a Triton Series title.
