We recently reported on the scandal involving Will Kassouf - the 17th player in the WSOP 2016 Main Event. He allegedly "robbed" his opponents after losing his stack in a Pot Limit Omaha cash game in such a way that he took the lost money from the table and left the cash game room.
He was invited to podcast by a well-known regular and winner of the WSOP One Drop High Roller from 2017 - Doug Polk. He wanted to explain the situation around Kassouf. Kassouf did an hour-long podcast with him in which he described his side of the Irish Open story, where he strongly denied the allegations.
According to Kassouf, there were no cameras in the cash game part, so there is no record to prove that the allegations against him are based on truth. He also denies that he took his chips and left, and that the pot must have been miscalculated by the dealer.
"I was sitting right next to the dealer and my chips were in the pot. There was no problem at the time." He then noted that he didn't leave the cash game room right away because he was still talking with his friends for a few minutes. Later in the interview, Kassouf called the allegations rumors and speculations without any evidence.
"I would never do anything to jeopardize my poker career or try to take chips off the table whether it's a tournament or a cash game. I will never cheat in the game I love so the allegations are false and completely fictional." he added at the end of the podcast.
