In today's article, we will move to the town of Catoosa, located in Rogers and Wagoner counties in the U.S. state of Oklahoma. It was this town that became a major topic in the American media at the end of May, thanks to an unpleasant situation.
At the end of May, Dacie Yeager was due to play at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa. She was supposed to enter the casino at 9:30 in the morning and has not left since. During that time, she left her car running, and it was this detail that was noticed by casino security. After checking the situation, the security guard discovered that there was a small child in her car in the parking lot and the car was locked.
She lied to police
They immediately called the police, who extricated the child from the car and she was taken to a local hospital. When Dacie noticed that the police were at her car, she immediately ran out of the casino and tried to find out what was going on. In doing so, she claimed to police that the child had only been in the car alone for 20 minutes. However, casino security checked the surveillance footage and found that Dacie entered the casino at 9:30 a.m., and never left the casino to check on her child until 2:50 p.m., when police arrived.
Police also released footage from the entire event in late June from cameras worn by officers attached to their uniforms. From that footage, we learned that Dacie claimed to police that she only went to the casino to look for the child's father. However, she later admitted that she had gambled at the casino. She also claimed that she was supposedly a nurse.
Disabled child
But the most shocking fact about this whole case is that the child was only 16 months old and was disabled - he had a feeding tube inserted. "The baby's mother said she had given birth to the baby early and that she had some health problems and that's why she had the feeding tube. When the baby was taken to the hospital, the baby had a dirty diaper," Police Chief Ronnie Benight said. Benight went on to say that they used to investigate cases where parents accidentally leave the baby in the car, but that this was deliberate, which he said is even worse.
Police arrested the child's mother but later released her on bail. However, she is still charged with child neglect and is awaiting trial. The child was taken away by social welfare workers and it is now questionable whether she will ever return to her mother.
