WPT Korea: Leon Sturm and Steve O'Dwyer take home more than €308,000 from SHR

For several weeks we have been bringing you daily updates from the Triton SHR Series, which took place in Jeju, Korea, more specifically at the Landing Casino, Shinhwa World. But the Triton poker action didn't end there, these days the WPT Korea is taking place here.

The action here will last until April 3 and a total of 13 championship rings will be given away. We won't burden you with numbers in Korean currency, and we'll convert everything straight into Euros for you.

TheSuper High Roller is graced by some big names

One of the first WPT Korea tournaments was the Super High Roller with a buy-in of €27,390. Thanks to 29 entries, the prizepool here reached €739,513 and out of this amount, €277,506 was waiting for the winner.

Names like Phil Ivey, Steve O'Dwyer and Leon Sturm made their way to the 9-seat final table here. Espen Jorstad (10th place) and Timothy Adams (11th place) finished just outside the final table. Chinese player Jiali Ouyang sat at the final table as chipleader with a stack of 3,450,000.

Only 5 players could make it to the ITM and the legendary Phil Ivey did not make the list. He finished in 7th place after losing his K-J against K-K.

Leon Sturm and Steve O'Dwyer eventually made it to the last three players. Leon finished in third place, which was valued at €123,325.

Steve O'Dwyer in the final heads-up

Steve O'Dwyer and Chinese player Jiali Ouyang entered the final heads-up match. The latter started with a stack of 8,400,000 against Steve's stack of 5,400,000. Steve was able to take the lead within a few hands, but was unable to hold on to it. Heads-up play lasted for over an hour and finally Jiali was able to become the champion after hitting a flush on the last hand. For first place, she won the trophy, the championship ring and the sum of € 277,506. Steve O'Dwyer came in second place with a prize of €185,022. Congratulations!
