From April 4 to April 15, the WPT Prime Slovakia events were played at the Bratislava Card Casino, during which we met several champions. We had to wait until last night to find out the winner of the Main Event, and it was German Fabian Gumz.
The half-million guaranteed tournament was ultimately played for a prizepool of €702,700, with the winner taking home €108,210. The closest to that at the start of yesterday's final table was András Mátrai (7,200,000, 72bb), who had to settle for fourth place and a €40,000 payday after some unlucky spots.
Of the Slovak players, only Jozef Cibicek made it to the final table with the fourth largest stack (2,725,000, 27bb). With that, he was able to stay in the game until third place, for which he could take home a €53,000 reward.
As mentioned earlier, the champion was Germany's Fabian Gumz, who defeated Zaharaghi Maor in heads-up play to take the full €108,210 without a deal. Congratulations!
