There were four days of play on the schedule, with the tough task of generating the minimum 4,000 entries needed to fill the guarantee. During the first days of play, players managed to collect 3,835 entries, which meant that they didn't clear the guarantee, leaving the Vegas casino to pay a portion of the guarantee out of their own money.

  • Day 1A - 609 entries - 202 advancing
  • Day 1B - 730 entries - 265 advancing
  • Day 1C - 973 entries - 337 advancers
  • Day 1D - 1,523 entries - 590 advancers

This brings the total number of players entering Day 2 to 1,394, who will be battling it out to beat the bubble. When the payout structure is announced, the winner of the WPT World Championship will take home a fabulous $5,678,000 with no less than 480 players walking away empty-handed.

Day 2 will play out later this evening, featuring the aforementioned 1,394 players. Five 90-minute levels will be played to get closer to the ITM positions, but the journey to the final table is a tough one, and those who want to win the huge $5,678,000 will have to make it through 6 days of play to the final table on December 21.
