This year's WSOP is definitely full of interesting stories in which both recreational players and world superstars appear, breaking one record after another. Whether it was Anthony Zinno, who won two bracelets in four days, the legendary Phil Hellmuth and his 16th bracelet, but most recently the name Michael Addamo began to appear again.
He took part in a very interesting event with serial number 38, which was the $50,000 High Roller. The event produced a total of 81 entries, which in the astronomical buy-in meant a prizepool worth $ 3,877,875. The best 13 players took their share of it, while the largest parts, led by a bracelet and a $ 1,132,968 prize, were waiting for the five participants of the final day.
Final table Chipcount:
- Michael Addamo - 11,475,000
- Justin Bonomo - 4,975,000
- Erik Seidel - 4,335,000
- Gal Yifrach - 3,160,000
- Chris Hunichen - 405,000
Even before the start of this final, everyone rightly (even with regard to the chipcount) favored Michael Addamo to win the bracelet, who is experiencing an incredible heater this year. Last month, just a week after a fantastic back-to-back win at PokerMasters, he became the champion of the huge $3,402,000 Super High Roller Bowl. Addamo then dealt with all the opponents and defeated Justin Bonomo in a heads-up, who had the opportunity to repay this loss.
Even yesterday, these two players got into the final heads-up, which they entered with equal 75bb stacks. However, even such deep stacks did not prevent it from being over in just an hour, thanks to the hand in which Bonomo 4-bet shoved with T 9, which Addamo decided to call with the combination K J. The thrilling board gradually brought the Q J T flop, leaving everything still open. The T on turn moved Bonomo to the forefront, but everything was definitely decided by A on the river which ended this tournament.
After a successful September, which gave Addamo $5.2 million in tournament winnings, he apparently continues to star in October, and this morning he took home his third WSOP bracelet and $ 1,132,968. "Yes, skill must be part of success, but winning so many tournaments is also about luck. I've always played a strategy of frequent strong bets, thanks to which you can bust in the first level, but also build a big stack. Despite all the success, I don't feel pressure, I try to keep my feet on the ground and focus on studying and working hard.”
