WSOP Super Main Event Guarantee Not Fulfilled, $6,000,000 Awaits Winner

Article cover

The WSOP Super Main Event's record-breaking single tournament guarantee was not met. With a buy-in of $25,000, the tournament needed 2,000 entries to fill its $50,000,000 guarantee. The final 1,978 entries thus means an overlay of $550,000, and only 22 entries short of meeting the guarantee.

Live flights reached 1,378 entries and online flights reached another 600 entries. Today's Day 3 will see 207 advancers from live Day 2 and another 90 players from online play, for a total of 297 players, and all of them are already ITM.

The minimum buy-in is $50,000 and a handsome $6,000,000 awaits the winner, along with a gold bracelet. Neither of those prizes will go to WSOP record holder Phil Hellmuth, who finished on the bubble last night. The chipleader is a player from Lithuania named Gytis Lazauninkas with a stack of 15,430,000. Also in the ITM are names like Juan Pardo, Liv Boeree, David Peters, Chris Hunichen, Adrian Mateos, Ole Schemion, Alex Keating, Chris Brewer, Daniel Negreanu, Roland Rokita, Jan-Peter Jachtmann, Justin Bonomo, Erik Seidel, Nick Petrangelo, Stephen Chidwick, Alex Foxen, Max Neugebauer, Michael Addamo, Kristen Foxen, Chris Moneymaker, Nacho Barbero, Timothy Adams, and Samuel Mullur.

Play will continue tonight when the blinds start at 40k/80k/80k and you can also look forward to the live stream, which can be found on our website.
